Viscosity measurements are the most sensitive and convenient way to detect these properties.Viscometer test principleThe machine transmission component drives the sensor with a high subdivision driving stepper motor to drive the rotor through the hairspring and the rotation shaft. If the rotor is not subjected to fluid resistance, the hairspring sensor pointer is in the same position as the stepper motor sensor pointer. Conversely, if the rotor is subjected to viscous drag of the liquid, the torque generated by the balance spring counteracts the viscous drag and eventually reaches equilibrium.
