There are two kinds of ball mill, grid type and overflow type due to different ways of discharging material.Ball Mill Working Principle:Ball Mill is a horizontal rotating device transmitted by the outer gear. The materials are transferred to the grinding chamber through the quill shaft uniformly. There are ladder liner and ripple liner and different specifications of steel balls in the chamber. The centrifugal force caused by rotation of barrel brings the steel balls to a certain height and impact and grind the materials. The ground materials are discharged through the discharging board thus the grinding process is finished.Ball Mill Applications:Ball Mill is mainly used to grind materials in mineral, cement, refractory, chemical industry, etc. Ball mill has dry and wet ways. When wet ball mill works, certain water and other liquid will be added into materials to increase flow ability of materials, so the capacity is increased. The large size girth gear can also be split into two half parts.Main BearingBall mills with diameters less than 3.6 meters (12 feet) are recommended to be equipped with double row self-aligning roller bearings with energy saving, convenient lubrication and reliable operation. The Babbitt bearings with dynamic and static pressure structure are used for the large scale ball mills. The main bearings are equipped with temperature sensor to realize remote monitoring.FeederTo match the arrangement of milling circuit, the ball mill is often equipped with the spout feeder or drum feeder.
